Dealer is one of those hard to find, well mannered, friendly horses with a willing to please laid back personality and a good mind.

Plus he is STUNNING! 

Well on his way to being that exceptional riding partner, Dealer has several months of professional training already and continues to improve with every working session. Recommend an intermediate+ rider as Dealer is still sensitive and/or green in some areas and gains confidence from his handler. As he builds experience and gets more miles in the right hands I think Dealer could make a wonderful horse for a confident beginner in the future.

RIDING: 

• Comfortable 4 beat gait on light contact 

• Does best with soft hands

• Nice soft headset (this is recent but improving quickly)

• Stands to mount and dismount

• Walks quietly on light rein

• Rides alone or with others (front, middle or rear)

• Comfortable on trails (have run across deer, hikers, puddles and leg snatching vines without issue)

• Backs up

• Local show experience

• Rides bareback

• Used to dogs barking and running fences

 

HANDLING & EXPERIENCES: 

• Excellent and very considerate ground manners

• Stands quietly to tack

• Loads and hauls beautifully

• Good for the farrier and vet

• Clips (have done face and legs, not yet comfortable with clippers around his ears)

NOTES: 

• While Dealer is very comfortable with some things lots of other horses wouldn’t be, I occasionally get strong nervous reactions to situations I wouldn’t expect to bother him by comparison (you could likely say this about most horses). However he is a quick and willing learner so working through those things when discovered is usually a pleasant process. 

• Dealer is typically very relaxed and well mannered on the ground but is less confident while under saddle (at least when riding alone). This is why I recommend somebody with more experience that could help him through a scary situation if or when it comes up. Somebody who can help Dealer continue to grow and progress will have themselves a fantastic horse that’s very difficult to replace.
